Generative AI is forcing us to rethink the very foundations of computing—what it means to program, to test, and even to “know.” This talk explores how the shift from deterministic systems to reasoning, agentic models is reshaping development practices, cost structures, and the role of the developer. From context engineering to AI economics, from “vibe coding” to specs-driven systems, we’ll trace the rapid evolution of GenAI and what it reveals about the future of software creation. Join to discover why everything you thought was stable in computing is being rewritten—faster than any technological shift before it.
Embark on an immersive Cyberpunk adventure as we uncover the fate of Nyx, one of the last remaining Cloudonauts. In this session, you'll explore AWS DevSecOps security services through an engaging, interactive narrative. Discover how innovative solutions—leveraging advanced forms and AI—enhance your security, and learn about powerful tools you never knew existed, from AWS Code Guru to AWS Signer.

Rearchitecting a mission critical serverless application for multi-tenancy
When you build a saas application, starting with single tenant architecture is most of the cases the best option. It provides the speed and flexibility you need. But when the system grows, and when there are more and more consumers added into the system, this single tenant approach, itself can be the bottleneck.
In this talk I am going to take you through a real-world use case, how and why one of the mission critical serverless applications in PostNL that was initially designed for single tenants was moved to a multi-tenant approach.
In large-scale IoT systems, where thousands of devices are constantly communicating, data and control messages can flow unpredictably and at varying rates throughout the day. Serverless and event-driven architectures provide a dynamic and efficient solution to this challenge. In this session, we’ll explore why serverless is a great fit for IoT, particularly in handling data ingestion and management. We’ll dive into the key architectural patterns used in IoT systems, highlighting how event-driven design enables scalability, flexibility, and cost optimization. I’ll also walk you through an architecture I designed for an IoT use case, showcasing the integration of various AWS services tailored for data ingestion, processing, and analytics. Along the way, we’ll discuss the challenges encountered and lessons learned during development, offering actionable insights into the unique aspects of building serverless IoT solutions. Join me to understand how serverless and event-driven architectures can unlock the full potential of IoT, enabling resilient and scalable systems that are easy to manage and adapt to evolving demands.
There is a misunderstanding, that everything is possible with the Serverless Services in AWS, for example that your Lambda function may scale without limitations. But each AWS service (not only Serverless) has a big list of quotas that everybody needs to understand and take into account during the development.

Elevating Event Photography Workflow with AWS: A Case Study from AWS Community Day DACH 2024
By Dmytro Hlotenko Senior Cloud Operations Engineer @ Sage Austria
How would you approach a very niche-specific technical idea to link usually unlinkable? This session demonstrates how AWS services can transform traditional photography workflows through a comprehensive engineering solution using a strategic combination of technical principles. Using the AWS Community Day DACH 2024 as a case study, we’ll explore how serverless architecture and AI services efficiently processed and organized over 8,000 event photos. The presentation will detail an integrated solution combining Amazon Rekognition, Bedrock, and Step Functions to automate photo organization and delivery. We’ll examine how cognitive services enhance image processing, while data science principles improve accuracy and efficiency. The solution showcases practical applications of AWS services that significantly reduce manual work while improving delivery speed and accuracy. This session will be inspiring for people as an example of a building process approach and orchestration of technical ideas with AWS.

IAM policy mishaps: A cautionary tale of cloud misconfigurations
We all know the principle of least privilege, but… how easy is it to apply in the cloud? In this talk, we will explain what IAM policy evaluation logic is and how it works. We will go through several cases that demonstrate how complex it can be to create a secure IAM policy and what the consequences might be. We will start with a simple example using S3, avoiding unintended public access. Then we will look at SQS, and how configuring a policy through the UI can backfire. Finally, we will wrap up with an example of integration with GitHub Actions.

How Athene AI Learned to Read Jira Tickets - MCP Integration in a Bank’s Support Team
Imagine a support team where Jira tickets are sometimes incomplete, ambiguous, or unnecessarily complicated, and valuable time is lost as a result. Now imagine an artificial intelligence that can “read,” interpret, and validate these tickets on its own, before a human even touches them. In our presentation, we’ll share how we taught Athene AI to understand Jira tickets through MCP-based integration. We’ll show how we built a Jira MCP server and designed a smart workflow that not only filters out incomplete or faulty tickets but also automates previously time-consuming manual checks. The result? Faster processing, fewer errors, and a happier support team – all powered by Athene AI.
